I've had a very challenging life but in the end, it's all been a series of lessons which have made me stronger. The child of a woman from one of the richest families in Haiti and a man from one of the most socially progressive families there, we grew up fairly lacking due to being exiled for political reasons. I was born in New Jersey and raised in New York City but have always preferred less bustling environments due to the fact that the people seemed to relate much better. I recently came back from Haiti (August 2008) after having spent 16 years there ((teaching)), ((doing security work)), and ((being involved in social issues)). I have tried to be in a position to have an impact somehow, no matter how small and love to encourage others to have the same mentality. I am currently in Birmingham, Alabama where I've always wanted to come. My best friend from back in my military years is originally from here and we recently hooked back up with one another and are going on from there.

This is the hardest part. I've got to say something witty and charming to make me stand out from all the others. I'm easy going, almost to a fault, I love music, who doesn't, such a generic answer Duh. Mainly all kinds but I really like Heavy Metal and hard rock. I'm a sports nut. I am a native Floridian transplanted to Alabama in the early 70's. Right now work is my life until I can find someone to be in my life. I love animals, especially dogs. I have an off the wall sense of humor so I like movies like Office Space, Monty Python films, Better off Dead, and I just added a new one to my favorites list, Observe and Report. Iissed The Hangover in the theater but believe it will be at the top of the list just as soon as I get to see it.

I love to write, especially about things that I am passionate about. I love to ask and answer random questions. You'd be surprised how much you can learn about a person when you stop asking the basic questions and start asking things like: what type of cheese do you like best?, do you fold your socks or roll them in a ball? or Do you put the toilet paper over the top, or around the back? You know, the types of questions that are just full of insight into the soul of a person.

I love to tell stories and have a million of them. It seems that no matter what I do, even the simplest things, turn into wonderful stories that just make you laugh and laugh at my expense.

When I first meet someone, I like to go to either a coffee shop for a latte (jeez, I sound so yuppy when I read that) or to the park to enjoy a nice cup of ice cream sitting on a park bench. Just something quiet with very little distractions so we can really talk and get to know each other.

I am house broken. I cook, clean, do laundry, YES I do laundry! But loathe whoever invented the fitted sheet! Those things are just evil! I leave the toilet seat down, chop my spaghetti noodles up like a little kid, make 'vroom vroom' noises in the car when i pass somebody... ok, I probably shouldn't have mentioned that one, so I'll stop before I really embarrass myself.

For fun, I love to play golf, but my clubs have not yet joined me in this new city I call home. Go carts are fun, I love to go tailgating in Tuscaloosa. I learned the hard way that people don't take to kindly to you parking on their lawn when it's an away game!

Contrary to what you may be thinking, I love to talk WITH people. I seem kind of chatty in monolog but trust me, I have two ears that love to hear other people's stories, thoughts, desires, fear, ambitions, and ramblings if they care to share.

Some of my closest friends came up with a few words to describe me, and while I can't mention them all, well, not in the presence of a lady anyway, I will share a few. They all had a lot of differing opinions, but this was the major consensus: happy, loyal, honest, caring, eager to help, trusting, selfless, and very articulate.

Ok, I don't know how many words or letters this thing gives you but it isn't enough. If you like to know more, or just curious how deep the rabbit hole goes, drop me a line. I'd love to chat!

I'm currently in nursing school at UAB and recently single. I'm just looking to meet other friendly people and maybe have an occasional date.

Well,I have long brown hair, blue eyes, I'm about 5'8, and about 135/140lb. I just moved down here from Chicago! I really don't know what to say..............I WILL NO LONGER BE GETTIN ON HERE JUST TIRED OF ALL THE BULLSHIT. I JUST WANNA BE ALONE.....

I am a lover of the arts, of random acts of sillyness, and random trips to even more random places. I like to enjoy the simple things in life, such as: finding nature's natural lazy boys, reading a good book while sitting by a river, or just enjoying nature in general.

I love music and is one of my passions in life and it takes me to places higher than the stars. I also love everything about music and listen to about everything. This is general I k now and many people say thins, but I will listen to Bulgarian plaintchant, punk, tribal chant, rockabilly, Baroque and Romantic era classical music, and the genres just keep on pouring out.

I am in Grad School, Working on 2 Masters

After that, I'm not sure.

I have a deep love the West Coast but am torn between being there or back in the South, closer to what I have always called home.

I'm young at heart, optimistic, honest, fun-loving, intelligent ... I love music (I sing and play piano and am composing original music) and politics. I have a good job and am generally happy. I am looking for a real relationship ... no one-night stands.

I am an honor graduate from Virginia Tech. I work in the engineering field developing industrial robotics. In my spare time, I like to develop new technologies to improve the human condition. I attend Mass regularly and like to participate in church activities.
